The objectives of The Pony Club are:

- To give instruction in riding and horsemastership and to educate Members to look after and to take proper care of their animal
- To promote the highest ideals of sportsmanship, citizenship and loyalty to create strength of character and self-discipline
Littlebourne is proud to be one of the UK’s 500 or so riding schools running a Pony Club membership scheme.
Centre membership allows children do not own a pony and who ride at a riding school to progress their riding and stable management knowledge through the structure laid down in the Pony Club led by qualified or very experienced instructors who have access to one of the finest youth training organisations in the world.
Members will learn progressively about horse and pony care and riding and will be encouraged to train for different tests and badges.
Efficiency Tests
These are intended to assess riding and horse and pony care in a structured way with tests ranging in
difficulty from E, the easiest, progressing through to A, the most difficult and prestigious.
Progressive Tests
Progressive tests in Horse & Pony Care and Riding & Road Sense can be taken as modules throughout the
different levels of bronze, silver, gold and platinum and are designed to fit in between the Efficiency Tests.
There are more than 40 badges that can be awarded – members are encouraged to collect as many as possible and sew them on to their Littlebourne Pony Club sweatshirts.
